Get TV Access!

Hi Folks,

I've had so many requests from people who want to sponsor our show in your city, that I have outlined the basics one needs to get the show going in your area.

Five Easy Steps To Get "Earth Changes-TV" on your public access station.

1) Contact your local public access station. Tell them you would like to produce a series show called "Earth Changes-TV".

They may ask you to describe the show. Great, tell them all about it. (Look over this web site to see content and "slant".)

The station directors like it when a person is enthusiastic about what they are doing. It will become obvious the show is for Families, but at some point they will ask.

Stress the point the show is acceptable for ALL viewers. They want to make sure adult shows are scheduled in later time slots.

2) Be sure and make it known you are a local or county resident (Very Important).

The public access station is set up as a community service. All public access stations have this same policy, this is good, it keeps things personal and close to home.

Make it clear to the station manager, that you are the producer and you will be receiving material from other sources.

They may want you to have your own separate name like "Chicago Earth Changes". Great! ...no problem... This will show on your line up but you will still be able to show "Earth Changes-TV" in it's entirety or parts thereof.

3) You will be asked to sign up for some classes.

Come Back Here! Don't worry about it, it's not that bad. It will usually consist of two separate classes.

  1. "Orientation" everyone has to do this one. It will take approximently 3 to 4 hours. It's fun, enjoy yourself.
  2. "Production" Again, don't worry, this class takes you through the procedures of scheduling and describes the different types of shows produced. This is when you tell them it is a "Taped Show" also let them know it will be a (30 min) time period.

4) Scheduling... The timing of when you complete your two easy classes, will determine what scheduling is available.

If you start up in the middle of a season, you will have the opportunity to schedule what's called "One Time Only". This means what it implies. You will be able to sign up for one show at a time. This can be a good thing. It gives you the opportunity to get used to the system, the TV studio.

If you start at the beginning of a season, you will be in the lottery for time slots. Again, it's important to let it be known your show is a family show for ALL viewers. Let them know you are signing up for a "Taped 30 Min Show". There are only so many of each type of time slots.

The TV season lasts for 6 months. At the end of that time, everything starts over again (Except the classes).

5) I will send you ALL the material you will need. I am currently sending 4 shows each month to each satellite city. Each show is 30 min., so you will have 4 shows on 1 two hour tape.

As a producer, you should feel free to edit. Some producers have done some wonderful cut and edit production with the shows sent to them.

All I ask is that you maintain the THEME of the show.

Most producers just keep it simple, and show the video in its entirety.

So have fun and get this very important message out to all who stumble across the show while channel surfing.

I have found that most people take this material Very Seriously, and want more information.

Since I have entered my fourth season, people's attitudes have surely changed. In the beginning, I would often be ridiculed or just tolerated.

Those days are going fast. It is hard not to notice what is going on in our world today. When I first started with "Earth Changes", I had some flyers made up. In addition to describing the show, I put in quotes, "Does It Feel Like Something BIG Is About To Happen".

Now days it seems that this statement is being echoed all around the world.

Folks,

Thank you for keeping an interest in what we at "Earth Changes-TV" are trying to do. I feel blessed with the people that have been put on my path; Sherry Todd our webmaster, Lois Green who started our Newsletter, Melissa Thomas who has taken on the new editor position of "Earth News" (newsletter). John Kesiela who has been in charge of the camera crew since our second season, Bill Smith who inspired me to get the show going. Harry Tchinski, the original creator of our web site.

It's been quite a journey, from being referred to as some extremist wacko, to what some have described as a "visionary".

With the presence of humility, Thank You.
