The events of the last three days were from the January 19th event which spawned an M3-class flare and following CME. Since the Jan. 19th event, three significant earthquakes have occurred (Chiapas, Mexico - Chile - and Fiji Islands). Also, a large fatal tornado hits Alabama. On January 26th, several tornadoes have been reported in Central Texas. No reports of damage as of this news release.

New solar flare and CME (coronal mass ejection) has just fired off from sunspot region 1401 and appears Earth directed. There remains a risk for an M class flare from one of these two regions. The proton event linked to the M8.3 flare of Jan. 23 is still in progress.
Geomagnetic conditions are expected to continue during the next 72 hours, with risks for isolated periods of active conditions. A second and third wave of charged particles are in play and will most likely last until Jan. 29th. Also, a coronal hole has opened releasing a plasma cloud and will add to a geo-effective storm.
