Pair Of Earthquakes Jolts Indonesia

Two earthquakes hit Indonesia on Friday and Saturday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from either tremor.

A magnitude 5.8 quake rattled Indonesia's Aceh Province on Friday at 7:20 a.m. local time. The country's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported that the tremor was centered 160 miles west of the regional capital of Banda Aceh and occurred beneath the seabed of the Indian Ocean.

On Saturday, a magnitude 5.5 quake hit 53 miles southwest of the city of Manna at 1:22 a.m. local time. The tremor was also centered beneath the seabed of the Indian Ocean.

Last month, three earthquakes, including a magnitude 7.9 temblor, jolted the same region, killing at least 100 people.
