HALO
CME: SOHO coronagraphs spotted a faint Earth-directed coronal
mass ejection (CME) at 0250 UT on Sept. 25th. The CME was associated
with an M2-class solar flare that triggered x-ray detectors on
NOAA satellites at 0212 UT. 
After
billowing away from active region 9167 at 402 km/s, the CME will
likely reach Earth on Wednesday. NOAA forecasters estimate a 10%
chance of major geomagnetic storm conditions at middle latitudes
when the disturbance arrives.
