MANSFIELD,
Texas (AP) - A tornado touched down Friday night and damaged several houses outside
Dallas. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The damage was reported
in Mansfield, about 35 miles southwest of Dallas.
The National Weather
Service posted tornado warnings across the area.
Several short-lived tornadoes
also caused minor damage in Oklahoma and Nebraska.
Tornadoes caused minor
damage to homes in Tillman County, Okla.
``We had some trees blow over
and some limbs blown down and some electrical wires blown off,'' said Robert Stultz,
a county jailer. ``The city police thought it was a tornado, but it might have
been straight winds.''
In Nebraska, Otoe County Emergency Management Director
Bonnie Schaaf said heavy rains with the storm caused some flooding in low-lying
roads.
Other counties reported some trees were damaged by high winds or
tornadoes. |
