12 Dead in Thai Flood

A flash flood has swept away more than 800 houses in northern Thailand, killing at least 12 people and leaving 4,000 others homeless.

The flood, triggered by heavy downpours over the past few days, hit three mountainside villages in Phrae Province about 450 kilometres north of Bangkok.

The bodies of 12 people have been recovered, but 15 others are still missing.
