Stockholm,
Sweden -- The organizing committee of the 3rd MARELEC conference invites the submission
of paper proposals for the conference. MARELEC (short for marine electromagnetics)
will focus 11-13 July, 2001, especially on the areas of physics concerned with
the electromagnetic fields that occur in or interact with an ocean/marine environment.
The emphasis of the conference is on fundamentals as well as applications of these
phenomena over a wide range of disciplines. In addition, marine electromagnetics
has applications in a wide range of disciplines including geophysics, geotechnical
engineering, oceanography and naval warfare.
The Conference Committee,
chaired by Dr Peter Krylstedt, (Director of research, Defence Research Establishment,
Sweden), has met to select the topics for the call for papers. Papers are sought
in the broad areas of marine electromagnetics concerned with theoretical development
and modeling, measurements, and analysis, in addition to case histories where
appropriate. Topics include electromagnetic fields; measurements and instrumentation;
environmental noise; inverse modeling problems; data analysis and presentation;
field computation; magnetohydrodynamics (MHD); electrolytic effects; biological
EM effects; and electromagnetic seismic effects.
This year the event is
organized in cooperation with FOA, the Swedish Defence Research Establishment.
