There are many of us here who are watching this law suit and the events surrounding it with growing concern. While at the beginning it seemed to be cut and dry, now we are not so certain anymore. At best, the truth lies halfway in the middle and all parties here have made mistakes.

As a respected public figure who has the power to influence millions, we are appealing to you to put a stop to this. We went to Oates' web site last night and he has indeed fulfilled his promise made to you made on his radio show last Saturday night to remove all links to his law suit as a sign of peace. We see that he has made retractions and apologies and has gone the extra mile to resolve this.

We expected to see you make a concillatory move in response but are disappointed to see that this has not happened. We are also concerned that according to Oates, there were moves last week towards a settlement and Oates appears to have responded accordingly. Yet Oates also posts on this board that no agreement was signed because he was not given time to consult with his attorney before an imposed deadline. We find it very difficult to believe that you would act in such a manner and not be fair. Is this indeed true or is Oates lying to spin things his way? Was an agreement signed or was it not? Was it reviewed by both his attorney as well as yours or was it not? Please do not be silent on this Art. We want to know!

We are the silent majority is all this. We are the ones who have suffered. We have lost a talk show we used to love passionately. Now all we hear is how much Oates and Stephens are bad people. We have lost those who we loved. We rarely hear Hoagland anymore, and the magic that Hoagland and Oates had together was unsurpassed. Now that is gone.

We have lost Sean David Morton, who according to you, was the most accurate psychic on your show. We have lost David John Oates, who according to you, had developed a technology for truth that was unsurpassed and one worthy of a nobel prize.

We have lost a contact to NASA, who might have offered us real hope for truth. But more importantly, we have lost you! We have lost you Art Bell. You are not the man we used to love anymore. You are not the man who searched for truth, or the man who was a guiding light. Now all we hear is a man full of hatred and bitterness and one bent on revenge at all costs.

Please, Art Bell, don't leave us like this. Don't let there be more heart attacks and guests thrown aside and children damaged, and more rumors and innuendo. Show us that you are the man we all want to believe you are.

Drop this law suit. Stop this before there is nothing left at all. Can you not see what is happening here? Can you not see that everything you have worked for is being destroyed as each day goes on? Can you not see that you are as much the cause in this as everyone else is?

Show us that you are the big man you claim you are. Accept Oates' apologies, recipricate his moves for peace. Remove your links and apologize for the things you have publically said about Oates and Stephens, as Oates has shown to us all over the last week that he is man enough to do for you. We all believe in you Art. Please don't let that belief down. We want the old Art back. We want the old show back. We want to see that you are who you say you are and that you are the bigger man here.

Please Art Bell, please do this for us because we are the ones who are really suffering here, and truth has already been lost. Forgive Art, and God will perform a miracle. We all suspect He is waiting for you to do just that. Forgive and there will be peace. Revenge and there will be war.

We fear that this is the real conspiracy unravelling before our very eyes. The conspiracy to destroy the most powerful team for truth we have seen in a long time, and it is working. Don't let the bastards win Art!
