I am pleased
to announce NASA has made perhaps the most significant shift ever
witnessed in the last 50 years. With the help from all of you,
and ECTV's tenacious vigilance to bring science back to a balanced
state of openness, NASA has announced a plea to all who are interested
in helping better understand the Sun - Earth connection. It is
my wish that our government agency will be open to absolute relevance
of ancient text. The Mayan, Aztecs, Hopi, Anasazi, Tibetans, Egyptians
and Dogon as well as other tribes have communicated the very Sun
- Earth connection NASA seeks. Let us all help our government
agency inch their way to a new understanding. It will be the awareness
of the past, that will open the future.
This appears
to be the article NASA is responding to:

NASA -
Announcement Of Opportunity - SOHO Guest Investigator Programme
The European
Space Agency (ESA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) have announced a SOHO and Sun-Earth Connection Guest Investigator
(GI) Programme, respectively, inviting the worldwide solar physics
community to participate in the acquisition and analysis of SOHO
data (ESA-SCI(2001)1 and NRA 01-OSS-01).
Details of
the programme can be found on the Internet at:
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/operations/guest_investigators
Letters of
Intent are requested before 23 February 2001. Due date for proposals
is 20 April 2001.
We would
like to encourage all solar scientists to make use of this opportunity.
In the U.S. it is the only means by which funding may be obtained
for SOHO-related research, in other countries it may help them
to raise funding from their national science funding agencies.
Finally, we
would like to bring to your attention that at any time there is
the possibility to collaborate/participate in an "ad hoc"
manner by contacting the SOHO Principal Investigators. Their addresses
can be found on the SOHO home page at http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov.
Otherwise, you are welcome to contact the ESA and NASA SOHO Project
Scientists.
