5+MB Quakes in India and Peru

U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY NATIONAL EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION CENTER

The following is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of 2001 Jan 28, SOUTHERN INDIA, about 90 miles (140 km) NNE of Jamnagar, India: latitude 23.7 degrees north, longitude 70.6 degrees east, origin time 01 02 15.2 utc, depth normal, magnitude 5.8 mb. There have been no reports of damage.

The following is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of 2001 Jan 27, NORTHERN PERU, about 125 miles (200 km) N of Moyobamba, Peru: latitude 4.3 degrees south, longitude 76.9 degrees west, origin time 23 57 1.8 utc, depth 115 km, magnitude 5.5 mb. There have been no reports of damage.
