Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
2000 Dec 20, NEAR EAST COAST OF KAMCHATKA, about 50 miles (80
km) NE of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia: latitude 53.5 degrees
north, longitude 159.7 degrees east, origin time 09 19 50.0
utc, depth 65 km, magnitude 5.7 mb. There have been no reports
of damage.
- The following
is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake
Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
2000 Dec 20, D'ENTRECASTEAUX ISLANDS REGION, about 100 miles
(160 km) E of Kulumadau, Woodlark Island, PNG: latitude 9.2
degrees south, longitude 154.2 degrees east, origin time 16
49 42.9 utc, depth normal, magnitude 6.3 Ms. There have been
no reports of damage.
- The following
is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake
Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
2000 Dec 20, NEAR EAST COAST OF KAMCHATKA, about 50 miles (80
km) NE of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia: latitude 53.5 degrees
north, longitude 159.7 degrees east, origin time 09 19 50.0
utc, depth 65 km, magnitude 5.7 mb. No damage is expected.

is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake
Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
2000 Dec 20, OFF COAST OF CENTRAL CHILE, about 90 miles (150
km) W of Temuco, Chile: latitude 38.9 degrees south, longitude
74.4 degrees west, origin time 11 23 57.6 utc, depth normal,
magnitude 6.3 Mw. There have been no reports of damage.
- The following
is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake
Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
2000 Dec 20, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, about 35 miles (50 km) ESE
of Dunsmuir, California: latitude 41.0 degrees north, longitude
121.7 degrees west, origin time 23 39 14.0 utc, depth 19 km,
magnitude 4.6 ML. The earthquake was felt in the Burney-Hat
Creek area and at Redding, and is the largest of a series of
earthquakes today in this area. A magnitude 4.3 event occurred
17 minutes prior to this one. No reports of damage or casualties
have been received at this time.

2000 Dec 20, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, about 35 miles (50 km) ESE
of Dunsmuir, California: latitude 41.0 degrees north, longitude
121.7 degrees west, origin time 23 22 54.0 utc, depth 11 km,
magnitude 4.3 ML.

is from the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake
Information Center: Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
2000 Dec 21, NEW BRITAIN REGION, P.N.G., about 115 miles (190
km) ENE of Kandrian, New Britain, PNG: latitude 5.7 degrees
south, longitude 151.1 degrees east, origin time 01 01 28.2
utc, depth normal, magnitude 6.4 Mw. There have been no reports
of damage.
- Magnitude
6.1 earthquake near SOLOMON ISLANDS 5.28S, 154.07E depth 385.1km
